Obamacare Lie #5: Government will reduce costs
August 2, 2009
It’s hard to believe anyone can fall for this lie. Seriously, can you think of one thing the government does that costs less the private sector equivalent? A general rule is that anything the government does will cost at least twice what it would in the private sector.
This is because there is absolutely no incentive to cut costs. If a business owner cuts costs, he can pocket the extra cash. If a government bureaucrat cuts costs, what can he do? Pocket it? No. It’s not his money. Instead, there’s an incentive for bureaucrats to increase costs. The more his costs rise, the bigger his staff grows, the more perqs he can get, etc. In government, you either use your alloted budget or you lose it. So what do you think happens? Exactly. Every penny is used and budgets grow each year.
Another thing the government’s mouthpieces seem to overlook is the fact that one major reason healthcare is so expensive is because the government imposes over 2,000 coverage mandates on health insurance companies. Again, government is the cause. Not the solution.

Obamacare Sucks. My insurance company just notified me that they were dropping all Medicare Advantage Insurance in Jan 2011. Now I have to find a replacement plan and a doctor who will accept the insurer. Obama SUCKS
Send him back to Kenya where he can be a Wirch Doctor.
Yesterday (due to my age) I had a colonoscopy…..my third with the same doctor and the same medical institution….nothing changed. When it came time for the nurse to do her prep work (blood pressure, pulse, etc) she said that they will give me a mild sedative whereas I can hear the doctors, speak if I so desire and will remember everything that went on. She said that they would keep be as comfortable as possible.
I said “what??? Keep me as comfortable as possible, what are you talking about??? This is my third time here and I have always been put out…totally…..I was never given a mild sedative”. The nurse moved in closer to me and with a quiet voice she said “sir, we have a new president now……” And that’s all I needed to hear. She went on to tell me that I couldi certainly take the option of being put under, but it would be at a cost of $420.00 that I would have to pay out of pocket. %%$#%#!!……I was PO”D bigtime.
So I had the procedure done…..and opted to be put under. But that piece of s**t president of ours (who doesn’t have to live by his own heslth care standards) needs to have a colonoscopy with no freakin sedative at all.
